First things first, I work at a Verizon store AND I have the ThunderBolt.
Both of them have pretty disappointing battery life, although I make mine last with good battery management skills I've learned while using my phone. LG Revolution is an OK phone... however, it's only specialty is video streaming from Netflix/etc. Now consider the fact that Verizon no longer offers unlimited data plan. If you're grandfathered in, that's no problem. However, if you aren't then it's a problem. The standard 2GB data package for $30 only allows for so much room. Streaming video is the quickest way to go over your usage limit.
Both have 4G, but the LG Revolution offers a menu to shut off 4G because it wastes significantly more battery. However, on the ThunderBolt you can easily download an application called LTE On/Off to manage your internet speed. The ThunderBolt has a lot more memory it comes with as well.
Revolution has better resolution for color contrast and quality. However, ThunderBolt looks pretty good as well. Both phones have lots of instability. You will run into problems with EVERY smart phone you have.

But out of the two, overall the ThunderBolt would be A LOT better. You can get HBO GO on the ThunderBolt so not having netflix isn't a big issue, along with the fact that there's no unlimited data. I have unlimited so it might be worth it to get the Revolution but trust me. You won't watch too much videos on your phone regardless. At first you'll use it crazy but later on you just carry it around like a regular phone with minor usage here and there.
If you can be persuaded to a different phone, I would recommend iPhones or the Motorola Bionic that is coming in August. Only reason why iPhone is a better smartphone than ThunderBolt or Revolution is because of the battery life. iPhone has one of the better battery life for smartphones. Also, it's not as unstable as the google Android OS. I still love the Android OS better than the iOS. Motorola Bionic will be the 1st 4G smartphone on Verizon to have dual-core processor. Which means things should run more smoothly than the ThunderBolt or Revolution. However, it can also mean weaker battery life AND overheating issues. ThunderBolt already has overheating issues as well as the Revolution. I usually avoid overheating.
Essentially, if you're getting a smartphone you have to remember this; Smartphones are unstable. They can heat up, they can freeze up, they can bug out, software issues, slight water damage can ruin it, etc. I get so many customers coming in and complaining about how frustrating it is. Also smartphones have completely different format than other phones that it becomes too frustrating for certain people to use. You just have to realize you gotta play with your phone to learn it the way you want to use. Most people don't do that and return their phone for a different smartphone, which leads to them coming back.
Better choice between the two is the ThunderBolt. Best choice for you is the iPhone or Bionic.
