Do NOT enter it more than three times. The same thing happened to me & after the third incorrect try your SIM card will no longer work & you will lose everything that you had saved on to your SIM card. That has happened to me and I had to get a new SIM card. Just be patient & call your service provider & get the personal unlock code. Then it should work once you get the code =] Hope that helped you!

You'll need to contact your service provider and ask for the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key). Don't enter random numbers just for the heck of it or whatever, because after 3 or so incorrect PUK codes your SIM card will lock up, making it unusable :O

P.S. Make sure you write down your PUK for a later date, this happened to my girlfriend twice, and since she didn't write it down after the first time she had to get a new SIM card.

Dont not attempt to enter anything if the PUK is entered incorrectly 3 times in a row that means your SIM is destroyed

SIM cards have a self destuct capability to protect your privacy

To get the PUK call your customer service line and they can give it to u

You may need to get a new SIM

PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. If you have entered you're PIN code incorrectly 3 times your sim card will be blocked and you will be unable to make and receive calls/texts.

You will need to obtain the PUK code from your Network/Service Provider - you will need to confirm some personal details for secuirty reasons before they will issue you with a PUK code.
2008-09-07 00:58:39 UTC
Only your service provider knows the PUK code, you need to call them so they can give it to you, or re-enable your phone.
2008-09-07 00:56:41 UTC
The PUK is a hard coded number put in by your service carrier. You must call your service provider to acquire the PUK. Once you get it, remember to write it down so you don't have to call in again.

LOL ur sim is locked now

what u will have to do is contact the service provider outlet near by and ask them for the code showing them the proof of being owner or if they cannot do so,

u will have to buy a new sim and transfer ur old number on that

might cost u 200 rupees inr

lesson:- never mess up with ur mobile PUK code...........

go to the store where you bought it and bring your codes with you. they'll sort it out for you :)
2008-09-06 23:02:27 UTC
The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) is a code number that should be on the outer part of the credit-card size piece of plastic that you took the SIM out of.

You did keep that, right?

Of course it's totally impossible that the reason you don't know the PIN is because it's not actually your phone, right?

You don't have to do anything just call the customer care of your sim card company and tell them the problem and they will give you the code. If you have already entered the Puk wrong the maximum times the sim card will get blocked and you have to get your self a new sim card (you will get the same mobile number but you will lose your data stores in the sim like your contact and your messages)

LOL omg that very thing happened to me last week! You have to call 611 and if you're a kid make sure you have your parents around, because they ask for a social security number and things like that. Oh and don't keep guessing the PUK number! You only have ten tries, and if you are wrong with all of them, your sim card will get deactivated. I learned the hard way - for i also have a samsung =\ Good Luck tho, i know how it feels haha

Oh and definitely have a paper and pen with you to write the PUK just in case! its a long number..

Call your service provider from a different phone or skype. They can give you the right puk.

Oh Boy.

If your from the Phil. I know your problem.

Your PUK Code is usually located at the Card, Wherein you got your Sim. So if you lost that card. Your chances of getting back the PUK Code is next to nil my friend.

Buy a New Sim. :D

P.S.

The Part where you put a random 8 number code and it tells you to input new Pins. is glitchy. :|

Call your provider. There's no other way out of this. I did the same thing with my Optus Pre-paid and I called the customer service and they sorted it in no time. Even reset my pin over the phone so

I didn't have to muck around.

Good luck!

I had this happen to mean once when i was messing around with the phone. I called Cingular ( whatever your company your with) and just tell them that you have a PUK problem. They will give you the digit to put in your phone, its a very long number. Hope that helps.

You could probabably do a full reset if you still have permission to on your phone. I am no expert though so i suggest going to your local cell phone service provider and having them do a default restore and hack through the pin if they can. Try to go for the second choice but i doubt it. But your provider will be able to help you.

the best thing to do is call your carriers customer support. or bring in your phone to the actual store and they'll try something. did you try last 4 digits of your cell number? sometimes pins are like that but i dont know.

This happened to me one time. You should not do anything just take it to your company because it is a big like security feature and i am pretty sure what it is it you have to get anew phone and sim card because you like locked yourself out or something. It is really weird but just do not do anything take it right to the company.
2008-09-07 01:11:17 UTC
this happened to me last week.

go to the website of you're phone carrier (mine was at&t)

look in the troubleshooting section and search puk.

it will come up with a way to acquire the correct puk code.

p.s. DO NOT i repeat do not keep trying random numbers.

after ten failed attempts, your phone is locked for good

Your service provider should be able to fix the problem. You need to go into the store and I'm sure they have a way to reset your phone.

good luck!

I have had the same problem with my phone, it's means your sim is blocked and you need a new one. You need a new phone to if the new sim is saying the same thing.
2008-09-06 23:50:40 UTC
usually when you get a new phone or it is set back to default the pin is either 0000 zeros or the last four digits of your phone number

yeah i did something similar to this and i just called up cingular and they helped me out its as simple as that

also don't sit there and keep trying because you could end up locking your phone and if it uses a sims card then you will have to buy another one so just call

call your phone company and say you forgot your pin number and they will tell you what to do
2008-09-07 00:11:23 UTC
dont keep trying to guess or you will have to get a new sim...

take it to your nearest phone shop (or the place you bought it) and tell them your problem... they should be able to fix it within 5 minutes.

call the company u got and tell them the problem and they will most likely give u a new phone
2008-09-07 00:31:43 UTC
dont you hate that? i certainly do. hah i do it all the time and never write down the number either. i usually call the company and ask for the puk code, but of course they have to ask these questions to make sure its you, like secret question and answer etc.

they'll then give u the code and make sure u write it down incase it happens again. :D

good luck

Borrow someones phone and try calling your phone company and have them reset it for you. They do it with voice mail pins so I'm pretty sure they can reset it for you.

that happened to me too...it can't be solved on your own.sorry.i had to get my sim chip replaced, all it does is remove your contacts, so you should definately go to ur phone company place and ask for a sim, then they hook it up with your number.
