I have an SD card in my android device; but I can't put anything in it? I read websites and it says to go to application settings; but it's not on my phone and that doesn't appear. The "move to SD card" setting also never appears. I've never had an android before so I'm not sure how to do this,, help??? Most of the things I read on the internet tell me to go to settings that don't appear on my phone.

It depends on your version of Android. I know with KitKat (4.4) and Lollipop (5.0), IF an app can function from an SD card, then AFTER yo8u download and install the app (to internal memory), you can go to Settings... Apps and select that app. IF the app will allow itself to be moved to SD card then the "Move to SD" button will not be grayed out and you can press it to move that app to SD. Most apps do not allow you to move them to the SD.

Some apps also have their own in-app settings for where they store their data (for example, Camera should have a setting to store photos on SD, and some mapping programs have a setting to download their maps to SD card)

You might have to format the card in the phone. Your phone might not support the size of card you have chosen, ie 32G on up. You will need to mount the card. Try another sd card, maybe it's corrupt or just bad.

Try settings/more/storage maybe different on your phone. Mine is a Samsung Galaxy 3s
