If you have web browsing capabilities on your cellphone, can you visit websites that use SSL (secure sockets layering or sites that begin with HTTPS )?

Web based mail services such as "Yahoo Email or Gmail" use this, as well as banking sites.
an example of such a page is listed here below

I would also like to know who is your service provider/company ?

Most newer (or even some older higher end) phones are able to visit SSL sites. Keep in mind that you cell phone doesn't have that same amount of memory to cache the pages so some site just don't work. I have Sprint and have been able to check my Yahoo mail since about 2002 back when they only had the "wireless web" (back before Vision or Power Vision) Hope this helps.

TLS and SSL encrypt the segments of community connections on the transport Layer end-to-end. quite a few variations of the protocols are in accepted use in purposes like cyber web surfing, email correspondence, internet faxing, on the spot messaging and voice-over-IP (VoIP).
