Why are my text messages delayed upon being recieved, how do I fix it?

People tell me that they have sent me a text message, but I do not recieve it for 20 minutes to several hours after it has been sent. I use Verizon Wireless, and this typically happens when I am at my house, but not so much when I am traveling.

Sometimes calling Activation (*228) gives me my messages, but that does not always work, and sending myself a message usually gives me all my delayed messages too, however this wastes 2 messages in my plan (one to send and the other to recieve).

How can I recieve the texts that have been delayed without any charge to my phone?

Talk to verizon and see if they can maybe fix it. It may just be that you dont have very good service and cant recieve them until you get service again. Since it only happens at your house then it may just be bad service.
