I'm new to this whole cellphone as a mp3 player biz...
but i recentlly got an LG enV (verizon) and added a gig memory to it. recently I've been using a program to to add all my music and images through a bluetooth connection.

now I have 2 questions:

1. The program I use tries to convert all music (whether it be a ringtone or song) to 32kbps which is pretty low quality, though there is an option to convert to any bitrate i desire.
what is the average bitrate a cellphone-mp3 player should have? 32kbps isn't all too horrendous, but it sounds a little crunchy which i suppose may be the cellphone speakers as oppose to the actual bitrate, but i'm not sure.

2. I'm using mac OS X and itunes, all my music is labelled/tagged with itunes. When I add it to the phone it appears as "unknown" under all categories. How do I tag/label the music without having to download windows media player? there must be another way around it.

32 kbps is waay too low to listen with headphones..

The best lowest you can go is about 96kbps...

Get Winamp, it will let you edit ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags.

You should get a card reader to transfer files much easier..

1) if you want MP3 songs then 128kbps bitrate is ultimate.

2) lot of cellphones have options to change the tag.

go to file manager or media manager>that mp3 track>option> file description> then in file description you can change the album name, composer, genre, and blah blah blah

just do it

All u do is get a memory card. Then u purchase an adapter to plug it ceremony into ur computer usb port (adaters ussually contain memory enjoying cards). Then u hook it up and open its folder. only click and drag music information into the folder. enable them to sync to memory card and the unplug it and placed it in yur telephone.
