In my backup and reset menu I have two boxes titled 'Backup my data' and 'automatic restore' -both are ticked. Basically im concerned that id lose my contacts, apps and personal data. I have an external sd card that has just music on it and dropbox puts pics there too. Should they USUALLY be ok with these boxes ticked? I know I can use an independent app so dont tell me that! And ill take my sd card out obviously.

Ok look for backup in settings and try to get an option that downloads your contacts onto your sd card. Youll lose personal data no doubt but the apps should all still be there.

Install Titanium backup first and run a full backup with apps + data, then restore using titanium backup.

You lose nothing if you are ready to do what am saying.

Android is a powerful OS of Google. So it enables us to boot in 'Safe Mode' as we do with our computer.

If you boot your phone in Safe Mode, the every third-party apps in your phone stops working, so that you can easily fix bugs.

Recently I had a problem with my HTC Desire 1818 Android Bravo. The Phone kept restarting, I had to remove the battery to switch off the phone. At the first time I formatted my phone and I lost everything on my phone, but when the same problem came next time, I tried Safe Mode, it worked perfectly so that I removed the apps that causes to the problem while i am in safe mode

You can see the Full tutorial for any of your Android Device in the link Below
