Probably people are shallow, I thing is not to give a damn, if the phone does what you need it do then screw what others feel or think, and that is true to all things you, You have to happy and content, to do that you live your own life and not what others may view how you should live.

I get teased all the time for my flip phone, but I have dropped it down a flight of stairs , ran it a truck, submerged it in water by accident , and it always worked, have had it now 6 years , and I get to laugh every time some drops their IPhone and it shatters useless

I used one for years. Dont let yourself get put down by a phone, no matter what kind it is. Your dad is trying to be nice and thinking bout getting u phone for Christmas, be happy with the phone if he does and not worry bout that kid or what he says

Unless you're a kid in middle or high school, most people will just think you're a drug dealer; they probably wouldn't care if you're poor or not. If you're a hs junior or senior, people will think you're both poor AND a drug dealer. Just get a cheap ($20) non flip phone with a touch screen so you can check email and stuff, and so you don't need to spend 2 hours typing one text with the 2-ABC, 3-DEF, etc. keyboard format that most flip phones have.

Honestly, probably. But it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks. It's hard to ignore, but really it's just a phone. Yeah in today's world most things can be easily done with a smartphone and it might take longer for you to do those things, but you'd still have your ipad mini I'm assuming. I honestly think flip phones are cool because you can snap your phone closed and flip it open. I don't know how old you are but it sounds like it would be used mainly for calling or texting which is what a phone is for. You don't need to get all fancy just yet. I miss the good ol' days when there was nothing but landlines and face-to-face conversations. Anyways, kids can be mean but honestly it is just a phone and without a smartphone you'll probably actually be smarter than those kids who are glued to their phones. Be grateful and unashamed!

ive actually wanted to trade in my smartphone for a flip phone. theyre more compact and youre less likely to break it because the screen is protected when closed.

and it looks cool when you take a call ‘cause you can flip the phone with one hand and just start talking. just my opinion.

I’ll b grateful for whatever I get but i don’t want someone **** to mock me over it... then again i think that one kid who wld mock me got dropped on his head too many times as a baby and 99% of my friends (who are girls) hate him. Additionally I found a pretty cheap phone for $100 ($50 if u r Amazon prime, which my fam is) called the Blu R1 HD and it’s basically amazons version of a Samsung but cheaper and it does a crap ton for its price. The higher end version is like $10 more but if the AP discount applies then that’s only $60
