Question:
Need to block calls from a specific number?

I've been searching online for an answer to this, but haven't had any luck. Basically, I'd like to block phone calls from a particular person (Quite the pervert!) who has been calling me and texting me non-stop for days. Doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon.

I can't believe this isn't an option on all phones already, but anyway. Is it possible?

If not, are there certain new cell phone models on the market that allow you to block numbers?

By the way, I already have this person's number set to silent when it rings - but this isn't good enough. I've come close to pressing the 'Answer' button so many times because I would get a call while I was texting or just generally using my phone.

Any help is much appreciated!

you can block certain numbers from sending you texts and calling you on most mobile phones. i can and have done so on my mobile (i have a samsung e5200, my daughter has a samsung j700 and we have blocked some numbers on hers too). i also agree with what hyndsie says! failing those options, go to the police!

there should be an option on your mobile phone to do this. Each mobile will differ as to how. But on my phone i go into settings, call settings, all calls, and there is an option here to add numbers to a reject list. when this person tries to phone you they will hear a constant tone - like a cut off tone and there call wont come through.

On the other hand, if this person is harrasing you, phone your network provider, as they can set up and monitor how many calls your receiving from a specific number, they can also block that number from contacting you. You might have to get the police involved to push it this far but if this person is constantly calling they will see that and block them.

your 3rd option is to get a new sim card! i know its a hassle handing out your new number but at least they wont be able to contact you again! sim cards can be ordered free on some network providers websites or picked up for a few pence on ebay!!

the answer above mine is incorrect!! YOU CAN BLOCK PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE, AND ALSO WHEN YOU ADD THEM TO YOUR BLOCK OR REJECT LIST (which ever its called on your phone) IT ALSO STOPS TEXT MESSAGES COMING THROUGH.

What you need to do is contact your telephone provider

They are the only ones who can block an incoming call from a specific number

I think you need to speak to your Network provider. That's the case in the UK anyway.
