Has verizon purchased the iphone and will it be sold anytime soon?

I am going to be available for upgrade soon but i dont want to upgrade if the iphone is going to be released anytime soon. So my question is if verizon is going to release the iphone and approximately when it will be available to buy.

Verizon there don't have the sim card and the iPhone they need sim card,it you want use the iPhone , you need change you sevice and I hope you happy with the new iphone @

Apple is currently locked into an exclusive contract with AT&T. There have been rumors Apple wanted to also offer their phone with Verizon to expand their phone, but AT&T doesn't seem to keen of that and are commited to renewing the contract with Apple. Even if Apple decided to sell the iPhone with Verizon, they could not do so until their contract with AT&T expires, which would be about 8 months from now. Then, it would take Verizon several more months to actually have it ready to sell. All in all, if the iPhone is sold on Verizon, it will not be for at least another year. And since you can upgrade after 18 months of being in a contract with Verizon, you would be able to upgrade to the iPhone within several months of it coming out. You can only buy an iPhone from AT&T. Verizon does not support it.
