hello!

im with at&t + my contracts up so im looking for a new phone. im stuck between getting the palm centro vs. the moto q. these are the features important to me:

+ texting
+ loooong battery life
+ ability to put it on speaker when driving
+ voice-dialing
+ touch screen would be nice
+ bluetooth capability - i want to send myself free songs via computer & apply it as my ring tone
+ ability to personalize the background
+ affordable, but also the best i can get

i heard the moto-q has built-in gps, does that mean i dont have to pay for the service?

would these phones be pretty much pointless if i dont get the data packages?

pls tell me what you HATE about each of the phones.

thank you for your time!

i just got a MOTO Q a month or less ago (maybe i took the last one =(

and i DO NOT like it

Its just that phone is not user friendly- just to get to the alarm clock is a where's waldo search

and i do not like the calendar

the volume always stays very loud, even when you lower it

you have to use the task manager (like on windows) to completely exit any program otherwise it will show it as running

and i'm sure their are other things i hate about it than i can't think of right now

trust me you can get a crappy phone that is better than the way this one has been designed

do not purchase a Moto Q. living house windows cellular 6.0 is a foul utility interface which you will hate. The Centro OS is so-so. once you're desiring a telephone in basic terms for information superhighway applications alongside with all the different exciting Verizon stuff, like cellular television and VCast ect, the Voyager could be ideal, using fact it has an entire HTML browser (so it certainly feels like the internet, while on a palm or a Q its in basic terms a .wap formatted.) and you have not have been given the purchase any archives programs (different than Vcast) to exploit all that is sweet factors. in case you truthfully ought to have a PDA or telephone, seem into the Samsung i760 or the Blackberry Curve. Out of the telephones you stated, even though if, i could pass with the LG 10,000 Voyager.

OK I'll keep this as brief as possible. The Motorola Q may well be the worst thing ever created by mankind. Thats no exaggeration. The phone is awful. Poor battery, fragile keyboard, no touch screen, and awful reception. Also, if you try to put outside applications (not bought from AT&T) they can cause data corruption. All phones have GPS, but its not for mapping or directions-its so YOU can be found. And a better point-without a data plan on either (or any other PDA phone) you are wasting money-there are regular phones that get better reception and battery that have keyboards and do music. Without the package, you get killed on data transfer fees (web browsing, pix messaging, IM). So decide whats really important, because PDA's are NOT better than phones for consumers.

I don't know anything about the moto q, but since I have a palm centro, I'll tell you about that:

CONS

- very short battery life (with average use, I have to charge it at least every other night)

-it freezes!

- it's lame without the data package

-it overheats! If I'm on the phone for over 15 minutes, it starts to get hot and it actually burns my face.

Maybe I just got a bad one? Not sure..

PROS:

-querty keyboard

-touchscreen

-voice dialing

-great planner.

SOOO... I would check out your other options. I'm not a big fan of the palm centro, and, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy it again.
