Why does my mobile's network and 3G network keep fluctuating? Is it phone issue or network operator issue?

I have a smartphone - LG Google Nexus 4 (Updated version of Android - 4.4.2 - KitKat). My mobile network is Vodafone (Karnataka, India circle). Is it an issue with the network operator or is there any settings in my phone which I need to change?

Just want to check if my phone setting is correct: In Settings >> Wireless and Networks >> Mobile Network >> Network Operators, do I need to select "Choose automatically" or just tap on the available network which I use, so that it gets registered? Please help!!

Now, there are two scenarios. It's either your phone is the problem or your network/carrier currently experiences some problems regarding their system.

First try restarting your phone or turning it off then removing the battery for several minutes.

Or try calling your network and ask them if there is a network problem in your area currently. I believe these calls are free of charge.

It should be set to automatic.... thehn reboot the phone.... as for the "flux", this depends on your altitude, weather, terrain, location, distance from tower, battery strength in pone, cell tower output, cell tower frequency, distance from nearest tower, 'hand-off', etc etc etc etc etc etc

if issue persits, contact your wireless carrier for a possible network issue
