have you ever considered a non-G**gl* answer? i recognize this isn't the answer on your question yet you may want to look in to such open-source mapping courses as MapServer,Ka-Map!,or OpenLayers. perhaps over the longer time period it would want to be a cost-useful answer.

On my phone it charges, so id imagine yours would. It cost me $1.99 each single use or $5.00 each month.
