...and NOT a scam?

Also, can I buy an iPhone from either Sprint, Verizon, or at&t and switch it to Simple Mobile, or does it have to on from T-Mobile?

Hello Renee,

You’re referring to www.mysimplemobile.com correct? If so, check this out:

1. I don’t think you will be allowed by these reputable telecommunications company (Sprint, Verizon, at&t, etc.) to switch carriers as the mobile phones are locked to them as part of their contracts/agreements with mobile phone manufacturers. I know that because I used to work for one of those wireless phone companies a few years back.

2. They will not just charge you for switching your mobile phone to another carrier but will also affect your credit scores for breaching their contract. So be very extra careful! I strongly suggest that you get in touch with your mobile phone company to know the exact details.

3. And speaking of getting in touch, it’s a good thing that the merchant have indicated a complete set of contact details on their ‘Contact Us’ page http://www.mysimplemobile.com/Support-Center-Contact.aspx#8 (very bottom part of the page). All you have to do now is check how ACCURATE, ACCESSIBLE & RELIABLE these information for your own convenience.

4. It’s a good thing also that the merchant have flaunted their ‘Terms & Conditions’ http://www.mysimplemobile.com/Simple-Mobile-Terms-Conditions.aspx since payment transactions are involved and this will serve as your protection as a consumer. READ & UNDERSTAND those, so you know where you stand and you know your rights as a consumer.

5. I strongly suggest that you do a thorough research about the company’s background/profile as their ‘About Us’ page http://www.mysimplemobile.com/Simple-Mobile-101/About-SIMPLE-Mobile.aspx doesn’t satisfy such information needed. This is for you to know as well the company’s whereabouts.

As for the technicalities of this merchant’s website:

1. The merchant’s domain was registered since 2009; they have existed for a fair amount of time according http://verify1st.com/mysimplemobile.com (which by the way reveals the IDENTITY, REPUTATION & RELATIONSHIPS reports of the website you’re concerned with, and helps you determine whether a website is high risk or not.)

2. The Alexa Rank or the combination of average daily visitors and pageviews for this website is 31, 632 shows that their popularity rating is low, with at least hundreds of visitors each month. And if you take a look at the vendor reliability, trustworthiness, privacy & child safety ratings for this website, they all come with an EXCELLENT rating.

3. There are 2 other websites closely related to the website you’re concerned with having a similarity match of 87.1% omg.mysimplemobile.com, myaccount.mysimplemobile.com

4. The website is not currently blacklisted according to http://rbls.org/mysimplemobile.com

I hope this helps. Good luck!

You need to check their coverage map in your area. For some people it may work great, for other it simply bad.
