Help Please?! Is my iPhone done for?

I'm freaking out. Normally, my iPhone 4 does weird things like shut off randomly at about 10%. Usually, however, I would plug it in and it would turn on. I've noticed these problems began to occur after the iOS update. Today, I was using my phone with no problem. I placed it down right next to me while I was using my computer. I went to use my phone and the screen was dimmed, even though I set the brightness up. Then, the brightness went up, but I tried to unlock my phone and the screen wasn't working. After, it just went black and shut off. I know a way to solve this problem is by doing a hard reset, but my lock button is stuck. I've never gotten it wet and haven't really ever dropped it. I really need this phone because I travel for school and need to be able to contact someone if something happens. Is there anything that I can possibly do? I'm losing my mind. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

The brightness can be fixed by going to settings and then brightness Make sure it Isn't on auto brighness. The random turning off is just the old battery eich would cost about $100 to fix. bring it to a phone repair place

I think you should let the battery drain first. Charge it up, turn it on again and see what happens. If nothing still works, then it's best you sell it and upgrade. You can sell your iPhone 4 to eCycle Best because they'll take in broken iPhone 4 phones.

I doubt it will do any good but you can try backing the iPhone up to your computer then resetting it then restoring the phone using the backup in iTunes, I don't know of anything else that would work
