[CYANOGENMOD] What are Nightlies? Or Nightly ROMs?

Help! I am about to update to nightly ROM. Do you recommend it or not? And what is a Nightly ROM exactly?? PLEASE HELP and please answer simply. Its some times hard to understand!!

"Nightlies" are roms that are works in progress and are basically used for testing.. There are likely still some bugs in them that need to be addressed ranging from minor to unstable. You probably won't brick your phone trying one(CYANOGENMOD makes VERY good roms) but make sure you do a nandroid backup first just in case. If you don't know what that is, go the XDA developers and do your homework first.Be sure to follow ALL directions exactly.



I've flashed nearly a hundred roms over the years, some better than others, but most all are better than stock.

I've never used anything but a stock ROM on each of my three Androids, so I can't advise you on what you should do, but I do know that Nightly builds seem to be analogous to the beta releases of other software.
