Can someone hear a cellphone conversation by punching in a code?

a friend insists that by punching a code into a cellphone, the person who put the code in can hear all conversations on that phone on their own cell phone if they want to. Hence, there would be no privacy.

ANY cell phone can be overheard by a person using the right equipment.

I really don't know about that but I do know that if someone has a scanner they can pick up a cell phone conversation and also the portable phones in homes. I do not know the distance of the calls but it can be done.

in Pakistan one of my friends enter a specific number in my cell and we keep try to call till on 12 or 13th time it connect to some ones conversation.if you say i will put the code......?
