Basically I want at least 300 texts, a few minutes, unlimited access to the internet and a good camera.
What phones are best for the internet?
I have been looking at iphones and blackberries, but are they the best? What are the samsung touch screen ones like? And what network is best?
Any sugestions would be great because I'm so lost with all the different phones and tariffs!

well... for now.. Iphone (3G or 3GS) are very good for internet, but also blackberries.

if you want 300 texts, minutes + internet. i suggest you go on Orange, this would mean that blackberry is suitable for you, and it is only compatible with Orange (locked).

I suggest:

-Any blackberry of your choice on Orange

* Once you get the Orange sim (pay as you go), apply for orange Dolphin, this is what you want.

Orange dolphin gives you:

-300 free texts

-100mb internet

for every £10 you top-up. this will last for a month, so topping up £10 a month would give you the specification above every month. And for the minutes, you get the £10 top-up to use for calls.

Hope i helped

Hi,

I looked at loads, but for a personal phone I still came back to the iPhone as you just can't beat it on functionality and overall usability.

I have a Blackberry 8900 from work which I like, but is geared toward business really. If I was getting a personal phone that I wanted to use for a bit of internet, iPhone beats the BB hands down. For business I think the BB beats the iPhone quite easily.

The camera on the iPhone is quite poor and on the BB quite good - dunno how important that is to you?

Tariffs wise, they are all pretty much the same, but if I'm signing up for a 2 year contract, I want a phone that won't age and will stay up to date, which for me means iPhone was the only choice...

Hope that helps?!

Blackberry's web browser is VERY limited. If your main intent is internet access, stay away from BB

the iphones browser is decent, however it does not and will never support flash.

If you want the best browsing experience I would recommend looking at an Android based phone. Adobe will be releasing full flash support in the next couple of months for Android, which will put it at the top of the browser capabilities. (Shy away from the older devices like the G1 with the slower processors under 550Mhz)

I am afraid because the best for you may not be the best for me. But the best for us is the phone which holds all the specifications we need. and you can find the best for you through rating and filtering tools such as this:

Tell it first about your job or interest such as (I am a businessman, or I love photography etc..), then use the quick filters such as brand, style, camera, Price range etc..

Good luck!
