People seem to be under the delusion that the iPhone has some sort of super hardware. If you were to pay the same price for and Android as you would an iPhone, the hardware is going to be much better. Also, apple products have some really restricting firmwares and iPhones are generally much more restricted in use than Android phones.

But there is one thing that makes the iPhone superior (and I'm only saying this to give the iPhone a chance and not sound completely one-sided) and that is its appstore. There is a larger variety of apps available for iDevices (games specifically) than an Android phone. This is simply due to the fact that the iPhone is just more popular and NOT because it's hardware is superior in any way. Though saying this I have to mention that Android has a lot better 3rd party support in the development of apps and have their own collection of apps that would not be available on iTunes.

I'd also like to point out that just because something is more popular, doesn't mean it's better. Many of the people who state that the iPhone is better have bias opinions since they likely have never used an Android and/or know little about the phone market.

Edit: The iPhone is NOT innovative at all and Apple and their manipulative marketing seems to have delusioned people into thinking it is. Many of these "innovations" are just variations or blatant copies of features found on other phones.

In fact, I might even dare say Apple has invented little to nothing unique ever since Steve Wozniak left.

They do not do the same thing, ignore those who say they do. You will find iOS is a very much more restricted and locked down operating system because Apple seem to think whats rightfully yours isn't and still belongs to them.

With iOS you have no file management, only support for media file types (sound, video, picture), cannot download everything from the browser, no Adobe flash support and hardly any customisation. You need to pay to develop apps for the platform, and to run apps they must be on the app store or else they won't be supported. Android can do all of this which iOS cannot.

The iPhone spec wise is still behind everyone else on the market. Screen size is still smaller on the iPhone 5, processor is still slower, RAM is still lower, etcetera. Its just NOT WORTH being ripped off by Apple, when many other companies who do Android phones offer much higher spec and capability for the same price or lower. Avoid iPhones.

Edit: Chee claims the iPhone's inventions are more innovative when the 'innovations' Apple claims it has made were in fact used long before. One example is the front facing camera, found on phones dating back to around 2004. Blatant liars. Also their 'retina display'. Apple did not create this, LG did. And Samsung started to develop the SuperAMOLED technology before the iPhone 3G.

Ignore Apple's dumb use of adjectives, all they do are mislead you.

first of all let me ask you a simple question..

would you be happy to live with something that is more on the costlier side or would you prefer functionality?

iOS is no doubt a very good platform and i-phones are one of the best smartphones available in the market today.. but they always seem to get some limitations like the apple iTunes store and the smaller screen size..(i am comparing apple to the ones like samsung, lg)

if these things do not bother you, then feel free to go with the iphone (and also pay more)

if you want to get a really good functionality along with economic relief, android is there for you..

droids cost considerably less than that of the apple products..

there are various companies that you can choose from..

the customization options are the best ones in the market today..

accessories are more readily available than for apple products..

apps can be obtained from the play store (android market) as well as other sites..

oh..! and you can rest assured that this operating platform is one of the best..its based on linux..and is very stable..

i think considering all the above facts, its clear that who is the winner..

hope this helps...

best wishes...

lumia 800

amazing build quality it just feels high end and premium in your hand and it's very durable

it's made from a single piece of polycarbonate and it's also made in a way that for example if you buy the cyan version and you scratch or hit it the color after that would stay cyan

the screen is a 3.7" screen with Nokia clear black display so that means colors and text look amazing on it and that also means you can easily see in direct sunlight so you won't have to higher the screen brightness

and it's made in a way that makes everything seem as if it is floating on the screen

the camera is an 8 megapixle camera which takes amazing photos and videos

it has Carl Zeiss optics and it also has the Nokia added features like group shot, panorama shot and burst shot

what group shot allows you to do is to capture the perfect moment so for example if you are taking a photo of 2 people and you blink you will be able to rewind the time till when they were still smiling

the web browser is extremely good and very fast

the phone handles mail in a very good way

you've got a huge number of high quality apps and you also got the Nokia added free exclusive apps like Nokia drive,Nokia maps,Nokia city,Nokia lens,Nokia beta,Nokia music,Nokia creative studio, espn, espn radio,CNN,viber HD. and many more

battery life on the phone is very good and would easily get you through a full day of heavy use on a full charge

the whole os on the phone is amazing and it runs smooth and fast and it's also faster in everyday use than iOS and android

hope I helped :)

tell me if you decided to get it

and if you have any question you can email me at spieleranswers@outlook.com

I first got an iPhone 3 for two years en then the iPhone 4 for almost two years and i've never had any problems. Monthly there are several software updates in iTunes and IOS, so it becomes more and more advanced and better every time. Also the design is much more developed than any other smartphone. So I recommend you an iPhone. Also the use of the applications and synchronization with your computer is a real deal!

Android... Less paying for the phone and the apps.. Not too many built in stuff so not that hard to repair it.. And less problems will be faced when you own an android instead of iphone..

Android is more customizable no two android phones will have near similar pages as for iphones they are very basic where the icon placement and the look is basically indistinguishable. Personally I prefer androids because of what I can do with them and value for price.iPhone your paying for the apple logo more than you are the phone itself.

The best hardware is iphone by far (and best battery even though everything is so much thinner), and by far the best security. You don't need any antivirus related software running on an iphone since everything installs through appstore only, and all code is reviewed before it can even get into appstore.

Here is a good video on the iphone 5 features if you haven't seen it: http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/

Android ftw.

Apple locks down their products like all hell. There is less consumer choice, such as having to buy Apple branded apps, peripherals and cords. Android allows for 3rd party items. Whilst Apple only have their iPhone series (great for keeping the cash within their own company), Android have teamed up with a number of manufacturers, giving consumers greater choice.

Apple are very precious when it comes to consumer usability. Android gives you freedom. Hell, the even give you developer tools to play with.

Apple claim to be innovative and Steve Jobs changed the world of digital products. Really? How about the Windows phone, or Ericsson's first ever touch screen "smart phone" which was built in the 90's or the iRiver which came out waaaay before the iPod (with bigger storage and a much cheaper price tag)?

Compare a couple of points of both latest operating systems - iOS6 v Jellybean

Whilst Siri is a pretty cool novelty and a huge selling point for Apple (which btw, Apple didn't build, yet bang on about how innovative they are), 'Google Now' actually learns and gets to know you personally. For instance, It'll scan your calendar for appointments (that have addresses entered), check current traffic in real time from where you are to where you have to go and alert you as to when you have to leave to make it to your appointment on time.

If you voice dial someone and it defaults to a spelling of a name (different to how it is spelled in your contacts), it will learn the new spelling variant from your contacts (without you telling it to) and default to it next time you call (I tested it - 3rd go, it worked).

Apple Maps compared to Google Maps? Underwhelming to say the least. Google Maps have advanced exponentially, such as 360 degree panning for Street View, mapping for cycling, walking, public transport, etc.. to offline maps - Great for when you have no service and you haven't bought an actual, physical map for around 9 years now. Google Maps (not to mention Google itself) is a powerhouse. It will constantly innovate and will never topple.

Android don't tend to sue or legally threaten poor Polish greengrocers or small family run cafe's in Bonn over something that is mind numbingly ridiculous, that it's just laughable.

One thing I will give Apple? They have an exceptional marketing department who explicitly know their target audience and know how to 'smoke & mirror' to get those iSheep on board.

Actually android is best, Coz it has many apps and we can customize the phone like themes wallpapers etc. In some situations I.O.S (Iphone Operating System) is best, coz it runs games and apps more smoothly than android which means no lag, crash etc.

The Top 10 Reasons To Pick Android Over iPhone-

#10 Expandable storage-

We store a lot of stuff on our phones. Sometimes the built-in storage isn't enough. That's why we love how many Android phones let you pop in a Micro SD card for extra storage. Plus it's a lot cheaper than spending another $100 or so on a model with more storage

#9 Built-in navigation-

After all these years, the iPhone is still missing a built-in turn-by-turn navigation app. Google Maps is just OK if you need directions on the iPhone, but it doesn't give you the audio and visual cues that Android's app does.

We've heard rumors Apple may fix this in iOS 6, but for now, Android does maps better.

#8 More hardware choices-

If one smartphone model doesn't cut it for you, there are dozens of Android phones to choose from. Each one has a different screen size, storage option, processor speed, price, etc. If choice in hardware is very important to you, Android is your best option.

#7 No restrictions on the apps you can install

Apple is notoriously picky about what kind of apps it lets you install on your iPhone. While Google has a similar app review process for its Google Play store, Android owners are still free to install apps from any other third-party source they want.

This process is called "sideloading" apps, and opens up Android to a lot of cool tweaks and hacks.

#6 High-end Android phones tend to implement the latest and greatest hardware first

Since new Android phones are coming out all the time, you're more likely to get the latest and greatest hardware before Apple adds it to the iPhone. For example, Android phones were the first to offer 4G data speeds, killer battery life (like the Droid Razr Maxx), and cameras with amazing shutter speeds (like the HTC One X).

Apple is usually slower to adopt the newest mobile tech

#5 Customizable home screen

All Android phones give you the option to fully customize your home screen. Instead of just rows and rows of apps like you see on the iPhone, you can add widgets, control panels, and even shortcuts for speed dialing your favorite contacts.

#4 Perfect integration with all the best Google apps and services

Google makes some of the best web-based apps around: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Maps, to name a few. With an Android phone all you have to do is log in with your Google account once and everything syncs up.

Apple offers similar features with iCloud, but its apps and services just aren't as good as Google's.

#3 More choice for default apps for web browsing, email, calendar, etc.

There are a handful of alternative browsers, calendars, and email apps for iPhone. A lot of them are good. Unfortunately, you can't set them as your default app. For example, even if you're using the excellent email app Sparrow for iPhone, the iPhone's native email app launches whenever you click on an email address from a website or other app.

Android gives you the choice to use any email client, browser, calendar, etc. as your default app. That means you can always use the app you like the most.

#2 Android still does multitasking better

We still can't get over how bad multitasking is on iPhone. It's insanely difficult to reopen the app you want.

Android's solution is much more elegant, especially in the latest version. All you do is tap the multitasking button in the taskbar and a list of your most recent apps appears over your screen. Tap the app to open or swipe across to close it for good.

#1 Integration with social networks and other online services

We share a lot of stuff on our phones on a lot of different services. On iPhone, we usually have to open up a separate app if we want to post something to Facebook, LinkedIn, Evernote, Dropbox, and many others.

With Android, all those services become baked into the operating system as soon as you install the app. Want to share a photo you just took? You don't even need to leave the camera app. Just tap the service you want to push it to. Easy.

U can decide it by ur budget if u want buy any:-)
