I know that you are charged for phoning an 0800 number from your mobile. My question is:
If you have free minutes, will it use them like any other phone call, or does it actually charge you a fee?
Three answers:
Judo No

first, there's no such thing as FREE minutes...you are referring to your anytime minutes, and dialing any number (unless your carrier has mobile to mobile, etc.) will deduct from your minutes UNLESS you are dialing internationally or a 900 number in which it will deduct your minutes and rack up a fee.

As others have said it is the same as from any other phone. But as for it being free - that depends on the network you are using and the number you are calling. If you are contacting a charity helpline that is an 0800 or an 0808 it will be free from most (but not all) mobile networks. But if you are contacting a commercial 0800 number it is unlikely to be free. Best to check with your network before dialling.

I think it is extra, your inclusive minutes are usually only for 01, 02, or 07 numbers. all 08 numbers are charged as non-inclusive.
