I have a Blackberry and pay $30 a month for a data plan through Verizon. Is there a cell company that allows you to have a smart phone and free data plan? Just wondering. :) Thank you.

Unfortunately no. Most require the data plan with any smart phone the market. Technology....how did we ever get by with it! LOL!!!

Sprint will also require a data plan. Through Sprint, it will not be an attachable. It would be part of the plan itself. In this case, maybe an Everything Data 450, $69.99/mo. for 450 Anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, unlimited cell - to - cell calls (regardless of the network you are calling), unlimited data, messaging (text, video or pic), unlimited access to Sprint Navigation (turn by turn directions on the phone), N & W @ 7pm. Also, Sprint offers discounts based on where a person works that can be helpful. These discounts range from 5% to 30%.

Data plans will have to be included with the use of Blackberry phones on any network I am familiar with, but maybe this will be a more cost-effective alternative for you.

Hi.None right now. However on Verizon smart phones released prior to 11-14-2008 do NOT require a data plan.So look at smart phones released before then and those will not require a data plan. Like the Palm Centro doesn't require one.
