Actually yes you could activate the phone but its going to have to be a Nextel plan, not a Sprint plan even though they're together now. Yes Sprint uses CDMA phones but Boost/Nextel use the iDen network (not GSM). You should still be able to be added to your mom's bill too because I have 2 cousins on the same bill and one has a Sprint phone and one a Nextel but again.. Sprint and Nextel are together now. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how the web and texting will be with a Boost phone versus a Nextel one but to my understanding they're interchangeable.

Even though Sprint owns Nextel and Boost Mobile works off of Nextel network. Sprint uses CDMA network and does not require sim cards on their phones and Boost Mobile uses GSM network which require sim cards on their phones. Both are incompatible and different network. You will not be able to use a boost mobile phone on a Sprint network.

i think. I mean, i be conscious of you ought to use a sprint telephone and turn the provider to a strengthen cellular telephone. i assume that's in basic terms the activity of having the SIM enjoying cards. (in no way had a sprint telephone previously, yet I have been given the Sanyo Incognito- which the sprint community has- for strengthen cellular and my cousin has the Sanyo Juno from sprint with the sprint community). in case you rather are not sure, ask a sprint customer representative in between the shops or supply them a call.
