I NEED reasons to get a cell phone?

okay so i am 14 , I have good grades, and I am a very good and nice person. My parents are on the edge of getting me a cell phone! I have been trying to convince them forever but my dad said "If you can tell me 7 GOOD reasons why you need one then I will get you one!" And I only have 2 so can you help me out and list 7 or 8 good reasons why teens SHOULD have cell phones! THANKS A LOT

1. Your safety, - If anything ever happens or you may find yourself in trouble - could save your life.



2. So they can get a hold of you & you can get a hold of them.



3. You will need one in a couple years when you get a car. what if you get in a wreck.



4. You'll be in Highschool, doing new things, easy to keep a tab on you and ask permission to do things.



5. Scheduling. I don't know any phones that don't have a scheduler in the phone to keep you ontop of you homework, large assignments due soon, keeps you organized.



6. Communication with friends. If your constantly on aim or msn, your probably taking up the family computer and someone else may want on. texting will keep the problem down. Or keeping your active by communication and keeping in touch with friends to go out and have an active lifestyle.



7. You get good grades and are becoming a responsible young lady who deserves the OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE how responsible she is and that she can handle things like a cell phone and in a few years a car. You SHOULD be rewarded for getting good grades and being an overall good person.

Can you ask to do different chores around the house to make extra money to pay for it? Wash their cars, vacuum the living room, etc. That will show you are responsible. Then tell them some of the reasons are:



1) They can get a hold of you at all times to know where you are.

2) You won't have to mooch off other friends to borrow their phone to call home and ask to go to Suzie's house with Vanessa.

3) You can prove you are responsible by NOT losing the phone or jumping in the pool with it.

4) Your friends have one and you just want to fit in.

5) In case of an emergency you can call 911 and them for help.

6) Since you have good grades, it's a reward and privilege that you've worked towards and ....if the grades slip the phone can be forfeited until the grades come up.

7) You can improve your math skills by calculating the minutes you've talked each month.

8) You can call your dad just to say, "I love you!" from anywhere anytime.

OVERALL:

having a cell phone is a safety thing! in case you get lost from a group and you don't have ur cell phone, what are u supposed to do??? I mean, it is so much more safe to go somewhere with your cell phone so that you can be sure that you have a back up plan in case something goes wrong!

Emergencies and so your parents can get a hold of you are the only reasons i can think of as to why a parent would want you to have a phone. Im your age and have had a cell phone for about two years and my parents love it because when i go out they can call if they need to or i can call them. It has come in handy. Hope you get one :)
