When swapping phones, do the text messages on your old phone get deleted when your new phone is activated?

I am on Sprint, and my two year contract is over. I have a Palm Centro and I am switching to the HTC EVO Shift. I have important documents and text messages on the Palm that cannot be put on the memory card. I wanted to know if, when I activate the HTC, the text messages and documents on the Palm will get deleted. If so, please provide any advice, if possible. I need help ASAP. Thanks!

NO. data on your Palm will not be deleted unless YOU physically delete it yourself. you can look up how to reset the phone or just manually delete everything. but nothing will be deleted simply by activating a new phone. it has nothing to do with your old phone. texts and documents are saved on the phone not the network.

I don't think it will. Ask Sprint
