iOS (iPhone) vs Android?

Which is better? iPhone 4 or Android phones (i'm thinking of google's Nexus S)
The only reason i prefer iphone to the android at the moment is the wide range of applications and jailbreaking (free paid apps, themes, much more). Apart from this, most android phones i see looks better, runs the better android OS (IMO), has better hardware and is cheaper.
I can imagine switching over is like switching from firefox to chrome, from a browser with shitloads of extensions to a faster and sexier one with less extensions, then realizing i seldom use most of my firefox addons, likewise with my low usage of my iphone apps.
I suppose i am going to like android os but the lack of apps and jailbreaking is still a huge downside for me. or am i wrong about this?

I am thinking of getting a new phone soon, can you guys help me decide?

I would go for the iPhone because it's smoother and has much more apps and also you can jailbreak it and it unleashes everything if you do. And also if you have a iPhone you can show off to everyone you have one

Dont get the iphone. Android has just as many apps as the iphone there is no "jailbreaking it" because it already is open sourced where you can do whatever you want to the app you download or anything you want to the phone. Android is easier and smoother to work. You can deff. do more with Android phone including making the screen however you like it not just the iphone apps through out all the pages. Plus if you jailbreak the iphone or anything of that source you void your warranty. OH AND BEST OF ALL you can put insurance on your android.. sorry iphone users ;)
