How do you turn pandora off on smartphone lg ally?

I have a new LG Ally smartphone. I am running Pandora, but how do you exit the program? Do I just pause the song, or do I have to power down the phone? I think Pandora will still run in the background and use up data if I just pause it. Please let me know..Thanks

You can pause the song and go back to the home screen, or if you want it completely off you can go to menu > settings > applications > pandora > force quit.
