In my opinion you should get the galaxy s4 it has so many new features than the iPhone 5( iOS is getting boring) some good features are air hover, drama shot, and both cameras shot

Hi Gareth,

Hope you are well.

All the phones you have mentioned are great handsets, so I can understand why you're struggling to choose between them. To help you with your decision I'll list the specs and the features of each handset and hopefully this will help you.

The iPhone 5 is the latest handset from Apple. It has a 1.2Ghz Dual-core processor, an 8MP camera and a 4.0In touchscreen. The iPhone 5 features Siri and Facetime like the 4S and is faster than previous iPhones as well as been taller and slimmer. The iPhone 5 also features the largest range of Apps available on a smartphone. The iPhone 5 will be a good choice if you've been happy with your iPhone 4S, would like a wide range of Apps as well as decent specs.

The HTC One is due to be released later this month. It has 1.7Ghz Quad-core processor, a 4MP Ultrapixel camera and a 4.7in touchscreen. The HTC One features Blinkfeed in which you can pick the social networks, news and feeds you want to stay updated on and they'll all stream live to your home screen. Also, HTC Boomsound combined with Beats Audio Technology gives an amazing sound quality. If you would like some of the best specs available on a Smartphone as well as having great technology for listening to music then the HTC One would be a good choice.

The newly released Sony Xperia Z has a 5.0in scratch and shatterproof touchscreen, a 13MP camera and a 1.5Ghz Quad-core professor. The camera also features Exmor RS so you'll still get a great quality picture even if it's taken in low lighting. This impressive handset is also fully dust and water resistant so if you want a premium Smartphone that's more durable than others as well as having a large screen and brilliant camera then this will suit you well.

And finally the Samsung Galaxy S3 which has been very popular since it's launch in 2012. It has a 4.8in touchscreen, an 8MP camera and a 1.4Ghz Quad-core processor. It features S-Voice which, like Siri is a voice activated personal assistant and Smart Stay, which uses the front facing HD camera to observe your eye movements and keep the screen lit up.The S3 is very user friendly and packs in some great specs. If you want a handset with a fast processor and some innovative features then the S3 will suit you.

I hope this has been helpful for you.

More information on the handsets can be found on the Phones 4u website. This will help get you started: http://www.phones4u.co.uk/sony/xperia-z/

Thanks

Emma

tough question for quality build xperia z is the best regardless of the hardware. iphone is iphone there isn't much selection in choosing hardware however when you choose the google android market you have 3 choices sony, samsung or htc google has surpassed iphone in apps 1million now iphone is 750k which is showing that iphone is dropping in membership but a close second. htc one i would never buy because the htc one has no upgrade option for memory or removable memory xperia z does have the option they said upto 64gigs it can expand to so expandable memory is your key selling point choose the xperia z. If you dont want the waterproof and need to remove the battery go for the xperia ZL version which allows you to remove the battery but if you want the nice waterproof style xperia z you can always put it in stamina mode to conserve energy or get a external battery recharger. keep in mind twice a year there is now upgrades on the flagship phones ie htc one x, htc one x+ in 1 year and now the htc one even sony is rumoured to come out with a better xperia z version in the fall so if you wait til the fall you will see a better xperia z version come out with more internal memory for the apps by the time iphone 5s comes out iphone 5 will already be outdated because they dont update their phones as frequent as the android market and it shows that it's huge ie 3 months window of selling a phone before it's outdated goes to show how big the market is and requiring updates twice a year because the hardware changes, major changes this year though 1080p displays (both xperia z and htc one), cameras that control lighting conditions (both xperia z and htc one) and some more cpu/gpu power. this is definately the year of upgrading a low end or any kind of phone to a high end phone because of the 1080p display and better cameras and quad core cpu/gpu power that is equivalent to your laptop but in the palm of your hand and also the other goodies dlna to send video to your tv or nfc chip technology which everything is going to have ie google wallet credit card wireless payment, vending machines, parking meters you name it super convenience.

go to the links below this may change your mind in getting a iphone 5 or xperia z possibly get the samsung's galaxy s4 which is rumoured to have a software that tracks your eye retina as a scrolling mouse, if this is true not only are they putting hardware into consideration but also value added software maybe exercise my eyeballs now not my fingers anymore. march 14th we'll see when they announce the samsung s4 but rumours are most likely true the other rumour is samsung will have better photosphere software than googles ie taking a 360degree globe style picture better than panorama pictures.

note to the person that says the google android apps they are also secure if they go through the google app store however you can also have the option to install it seperately as well and take a risk what i like about google app store if you reinstall your os system you can reinstall the same apps you paid free of charge ie upgrading os systems which usually happens when you buy an android phone from sony or htc or samsung they usually offer 1 free OS upgrade to something then its time to upgrade the hardware again.

Iphone has the best security by far of any smartphone (because all code gets reviewed first before it can get into the appstore). To me thats the most important thing with a phone, no need to run antivirus or worry about what you are installing on it.

They are all really good smartphones and I believe choosing between them comes down to self preference but if I was to buy one for myself it would be Xperia Z because it is water-resistant and it has good looks and it has faster CPU than galaxy S3 and iphone5 its 13 MP camera also is a plus point.
