My sister has given my daughter her old mobile phone, it is a samsung E900 on the o2 network. I had a old o2 sim card that I have not used and I have put it into the phone, now the phone does not seem to be working, Its not letting me register the card by phoning the helpline, I also tryed to register on line put it is just coming up as The mobile number you have entered is not showing as active on our database, it is also not taking calls, and keeps on saying limited service or emergency calls only.

please help will I need to get the phone unlocked or maybe it only recognises my sisters simcard as the phone was on a contract.

also how much does it cost to get it unlocked?

Its just the SIM card.

O2 mobiles are open for any card, but if you visit the O2 website you can request a pay as you go SIM card for free.

It doesn't need unlocking, just get a new SIM card as the one that's been sitting in the bottom of your drawer has been registered inactive. After a period of time it would have been disconnected and the number reissued. The mobile operators have to pay for every number they use so inactive numbers are "harvested" off the database and reissued. You can get a new free O2 sim from their website.

If you get stuck give me a shout.

The O2 Cocoon hasn't been released yet so which you will no longer purchase it everywhere. you fairly could reassess paying for off the internet for 2 reasons: one million) Your information are a lot safer on line than turning in somewhat credit enjoying cards and identity to a save sales individual. 2) paying for on line grants the 7 days Distance merchandising policies with which you're legally entitled to return the telephone for a complete refund - you don't get this once you purchase from a save except the keep quite grants a money decrease back assure. i could no longer locate the telephone on the O2 information superhighway internet site yet CPW/Mobiles have an internet site the place you may sign in your information and that they are going to e mail you whilst it is going to become available.

All sim cards go into a state of quarentine if unused for 90 days or more, so you can not use it unless you call o2 and have them reactivate the number. u'll also have to top up the sim card.

or you could get new sim card of 02 website

sounds to me like this sim had been in active for over 3months, when this happens o2 and the other companies tend to turn the sims off and give the number to a new customer
