IOS and Android are cousins... Both are UNIX based.... IOS is closed, and uses UNIXWARE as its code.... Android is Open, and uses LINUX.
The debate of Open vs. Closed is never ending.. Being open, you are allowed into the source code to tweak the program (ROM) any way you choose... To make apps anyway you choose. You are in charge. This is while there are many forms of Android, especially in the rooting and custom ROMing community. Google makes Android and releases it (SDK) to the world. Thats it. Manufacturers takes the new SDK, tweat it, and pass it to the wireless carrier. They tweat it more, and then pass the update to the customer. As for teh apps, Google does virus check the apps before posting them. But if its a new unknown virus, Google may not detect it in time.
As for Apple and IOS6, it is closed. You get what you get and if you dont like that, then shove it up your #%@#^!@$#!#$@&.... welcome to Apple. There is no ROM choices on Iphones since Apple wont release the source code. Again, its closed. And i you make apps, your under the evil empire's rules and eyes. And if they hate your app, they wont post it in Appstore. Apple is like a snob's club, only the cool get in. And, as a developer, you better make it look cool. Apple makes IOS. They release it to the customers. The carriers cannot tweak it. Again, they dont release the source code.
In my humble Opinion... Android is like the USA.... IOS is like Nazi Germany or the RED Communist Soviet Union.... or North Korea..... or Cuba......
Freedom vs. Supreme dictatorship
You just got to choose which one fits your needs. You sound like you prefer visual quality over speed and performance and customization and personalition...
