I have a basic AT&T service with plenty of minutes. Today I called Sony's customer service line because I was having television trouble. The call was 20 minutes and I am sure that the call center was in India. I looked at the number and the number is not a toll free area code. Will there be an extra charge on my next phone bill? Or do cell phone plans put aside a few minutes for out of country calls? If there is a charge how much $ do you think it will be?

Are you sure it wasn't a toll free area code? There are currently 4 of them and most major companies utilize them, especially those with overseas call centers. At worst the call was routed through a North American number so either way I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Yes you can recieve calls on your cell phone from your friend who lives in England or for that matter from any part of the world if you are connected
