I own Nokia6670 which doesnt have FMradio, is there any symbian software for this, that i can install ?

Does "spodradio" (symbian software for radio) work in 6670 and can i listen to Fm radio in metropolitan cities in India, with out having internet connection. Is there is any other softare ?

FM Radio needs a radio frequency tuner - a hardware component, can't be replaced by any software --- so you cannot in any scenario have FM radio on your phone.

You can certainly go for software based internet radio - but mind you for good quality radio you must have an uninterrupted GPRS connection with descent speed ( 32Kbps & above ) which is not the case with many service providers, if your service provider provides EDGE mode of data connectivity it is much better than GPRS. So quality varies sinificantly.

Answering two questions: It should work in the 6670, best bet is to download it off your PC and try to open the app on your phone. you should be prompted to accept the application from spodradio. It works in metropolitan cities in India as long as your mobile operator has coverage in those areas. You don't need a fixed data plan but it is encouraged. Since it is not traditional FM radio where you lose coverage in 10-20 miles, it will operate anywhere in India (or the world!) that your mobile operator has coverage or your cell phone roams. Just be sure to check your data plan costs so you are not suprised by a large month-end bill. The application also warns you about this as well upon download and opening the app. It is a FANTASTIC application picking up radio stations from all over the world and lets you download podcasts remotely.

There r many fm radio softwares life AVEC radio. If u like 2 get d full versions of ur symbian phone software u can goto www.funmaza.com or www.muskurahat.com . It really works. I hav tested already.

like its predessecor nokia 6630, ur phone too is not equipped to play FM radio. the nearest thing to FM radio is the online radio services. i am frm nepal and trust me, the radio via gprs is as good as the FM radio. since our phones do not have infrared in them, its virtually impossible to listen to local fm radios!
