Question:
Sony Xperia Z1 really late giving notifications?

I've recently got this phone and never had an android phone before so I'm still getting used to it.

One problem I am having is that when I receive a text/what'sapp/etc it doesn't tell me straight away and often I don't get the notification till 5 to 10 minutes later. It tells me - when I look - that I received the message at say 08:23 but the notification arrived at 08:30

Is there any way I can get this to stop and receive the notification when I receive the message?

Could you be a little more specific about what type of notification (i.e e-mail... SMS... missed call ... etc...) and the application that you use for it, i.e for sms the default android message app etc... does this happen for all notifications.

Where are you getting the information for each of the time stamps? i.e from the time on the stamp next to the notification, for sms the time stamped on it by the other phone etc...

Is your phone auto set to update as the time could be different from network and phone time to check go to menu (app drawer) > setting > Date and time >and make sure that the box marked automatic date and time is checked (i.e ticked).

If it is only one or two notification apps then you can disable the notifications for each individual app, but that means you wont get any notifications at all. Or alternately try using a different app.

And as stated above, see if there are any updates for your handset.

I have been an android user for years now, and I have never faced this problem. But then I have never used a Sony phone. What software version is your phone running on? Maybe a software update will fix this problem, but if it doesn't, go to the Sony store or your carrier and they should fix the problem.
