Can anyone tell me what the maximum memory card capacity is for the Nokia 6288.

What is maximum miniSD memory card it will support?

I've been in two Phones 4 U shops and got differing answers. One seemed to think it was 4Gb, the other thought it was 2Gb. Another opinion was that it will only take 1Gb.

So what is it?

I can't seem to find anything in any specifications, well anything that is clear and understandable anyway.

Also can you tell me when the 6288 was first launched on the market and has anyone had any problems with it.

i had that phone when it was first launched (around october 2006). overall its a pretty good phone. i hv never had any problems with it, until it got soaked when i went to niagara falls this summer.

it lacks a few features i would hv liked but so far i hv not found a phone that has kept me happy for over a week.

i would recomend this phone both me and some of my friends got it, and no probs

it is very easy to customize it, add games, applications and software...etc

it takes up to a 2gb card i know but i dont know about 4gb. i wudnt risk it

the capicity of 2gb depends on the quality and length. u should be able to store around

480 - 512 mp3s

or

1750 pictures

or

2hours of mpeg4 (/mp4) formated videos, i had over 5 videos, each longer than 1.5h on a 512mb card (but the videos were formated to .3gp, which is worse quality)

so 2gb is decent for a phone

if u want a cheap phone for music and video purposes i recomend:

motorola rokr e6 http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_rokr_e6-1810.php

sony ericsson w950 http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_w950-1443.php

The maximum the Nokia 6288 can take is 2 GB. Anyting more than that say 4 gb would be garbage. The phone would recognise may be 3 GB and 1 GB would go in the bin.

Phones4u is crap anyways. They never know what they sell. they miss-sell and everything tey can to get the sale.

Nokia 6288 is a much more stable handset compared to the 6280. I've not had a lot of people complain about it. I'd recommend it.

The 6288 can accommodate memory cards up to 2Gb. This should enable you to store around 450 MP3 files. If you want a decent company to buy your memory card from try http://www.mymemory.co.uk - I have bought stuff from them many times and always been delighted with the service, speed and price.

In fact I am in the process of buying another memory card right now from them.
