If I turn on airplane mode, will I still be able to send text messages?

I'm not sure about the question above because I've read some comments on the net saying they still can send messages. And if I turn the airplane mode off(after sending a message while the airplane mode is on), is the message going to be sent out or will it become a draft message?

flight mode cuts all reception, u cant send or recieve anything: calls, texts or data. Check ur outbox because all phones are different. Some will send it immediately once reception is established, some wait and attempt to resend it at scheduled increments. Either way, it wont appear in ur sent box til its actually sent.

Turn on airplane mode and try to send a message.

No. Airplane mode disables the carrier signals so no calls or texts would be able to get through or be sent.
