Take the battery out, and let it sit for a day or so. It should dry out and there's a decent chance it will resume working. Note that if the display isn't working properly, it may take longer for this section to completely dry due to its construction.

DO NOT plug it into a charger, or make any more attempts to power it up until at least a day later.

Sorry, but it's a little bit of a waiting game now.

Buy a new phone. You may want to contact your wireless operator; you may be eligible for an upgrade. Do not lie to your operator about water damage. There are indicators in the phone that will change when the phone is in water. If you file a false warranty claim, they will send your phone back and charge you for diagnosing and shipping. This is usually $50, much more in some cases.

If you're looking for a way to fix the phone, I am sorry to say there is none. It was damaged pretty much irreversibly - you cannot really hope for anything.

The battery in the phone would have shorted the circuits, and that is that.

Dry it out slowly and carefully, and pray - there is an absolutely tiny chance it could recover, but really, rather not. Very sorry!

Don't bother trying to return it to your carrier as most new phones, especially the expensive ones have a small strip under the battery cover that indicate if there was water damage to the phone.

Hopefully you purchased insurance when you got your cell phone. If so, take it back to the dealer and they will replace it for you for free. If you didn't have the phone insured you will probably just have to buy a new one. See if you can save your sim card though, especially if your contacts numbers are stored to your sim card. Sorry about the phone.

Best thing you can do is do NOT turn it on, and just let it dry for at least 1 day, preferably 2 days. Try it out and see if it works. If it doesn't, chances are they won't replace it for you because they have their ways of checking if you've dropped it in water.

you're pretty much *ssed out. you can sometimes get lucky by letting it dry out for a few days, the longer you leave it sitting out to dry without turning it on, etc the better your chances are for it working. try putting it on the dryer on a hand towel or using the lowest coolest setting on your hair dryer, becareful so as not to damage anything inside the phone. hope you have insurance i HIGHLY recommend it.

If you didn't get insurance on it, you'll probably be buying a new phone. However--option is to pull as much apart as possible, get as much water out as possible then wait for it to dry. Put it back together and see what happens.

Hopefully you were smart enough to opt for insurance for your "very expensive" cell phone!

sign up for phone insurance tomorrow. report it stolen the next day. you'll just need to pay 50 bucks to get a new phone.

the danger comes from the battery getting wet. Water reacts with the lithium and becomes explosive.

Carefully dry it off and let it set for a while.

Sometimes due to time or circumstance - you get lucky.

You will probably have to buy another one.

I am so surprised that I haven't done that yet. You know you are going to have to buy a new one.
