Does Tmobile/Walmart Family Mobile store our text messages?

Can an attorney or private investigator get access to our text messages from our phone carriers like Tmobile or Boost Mobile? Im in a law suit over my sons death n the defense is asking for my vell records including my text messages. Are text messages stored somewhere and can they be gotten two years later? Im not giving permission thats an invasion of my privacy im scared to use my phone now!

An attorney or private investigator can not obtain text records, but law enforcement can with a judge's order. However, law enforcement would not intervene in a civil suit, they would only obtain those records for criminal charges.
