OK, so I'm looking for an AT&T phone that...
1) has a SLIDE OUT keyboard
2) NOT predictive texting
3) is good for data plans
4) Has wifi
5) has texting that shows the whole conversation rather than the message you just recieved.

numbers 1, 4, 5 are most important. remember it has to be AT&T. any phones that meet all/most of these standards?

thanks

AT&T's website had a search feature. I clicked Slide-Out and a ton of phones were listed. Then, I clicked WiFi, and there was only ONE phone left. It was the Blackberry Torch. On the link below, you can see the search options on the left hand side:

I haven't had a cellphone for years, but I just got one last month because I plan on being away from home a lot in the future. I wish I had thought to get a slider phone for texting, but I got a flip phone. I didn't have a lot of money anyways so I'm just happy for anything at this point. You're not wasting anyone's time. You're simply asking a question. I'm surprised some cellphone "phonie" hasn't already steered you in the right direction. I think the Blackberry should be an awesome phone. Good luck.

One more thing. I watched a short video about the phone. The guy said AT&T had a Facebook page that may have some discussion on phones. (I don't have a Facebook account anymore.) The Blackberry does have predictive texting. I hope you can turn it off, because it does have data plans, wifi, and slider. The video showed it had a touchscreen that seemed pretty awesome.

Have you ever thought of visiting AT&T's website and looking at the phones they offer? You would save yourself (and people here) a lot of time by doing your own research.

Predictive texting is a feature. Most phone have it. You can turn it off.

The texting feature in #5 is called threading is a texting application feature. It has to be built into the app you use, not the phone.

I think the blackberry torch solves all of your requirements
