Hello
I have just got a new phone. I have the bluetooth on on my phone and my computer. my phone recognises my computer and i am able to send files off my phone to the computer. However, when I try sending photos/songs off the computer to the phone it begins to start to send and then it says 'Service discovery failed' :S can anyone help? thanks

rename the file you are sending to the phone and make sure there are no characters in the title lie "" or ! .. (depends on type of phone) also make sure the file format matches the phone.. ie my phone doesn't like my music files from PC as they are 320bps.mp3 so I have to lower them (I choose 128).. same with pics.. I have to size them to fit although they will go onto a memory card and not show on the phone when I use cable method of transfer. When you have paired up your phone with PC (as you have obviously done) .. choose no password/number to match and allow it as a trusted connection.

try also leaving your phone plugged into the charger in case it is power loss preventing the send.

Don't send the file from the phone without selecting receive file from PC first... or connection will cut out.

The bluetooth on your pc is largely an on/off change for a bluetooth gadget that is plugged into the usb port, think about to purchase one your self. I have despatched feed-backs to computer manufactures telling them their scam merchants describing their products with a equipped in bluetooth at the same time as actually its an on/off change for a bluetooth you could purchase your self.

When it comes to Bluetooth, "discovery" almost always means that it's trying to pair with a device. It sounds like your phone recognizes your computer, but that your computer doesn't necessarily recognize your phone. I'd delete the pairing in both devices, and set it up again. Be sure that BOTH devices are on and in "discoverable" mode, and give it another shot.

Good luck!

you have to restart both your phone and your computer and then try, you can only use bluetooth for once or twice, then you have to restart your devices and then use again.

Sometimes security settings on your phone or memory availability affects the transfer.

you may think you have enough memory on your memory card but your bluetooth might be saving the files in phone memory, you need tio change this so you could do the transfer without fault.

If your phone comes with a cable i would use that for the best connection
