Verizon Block Numbers
.....When blocking numbers, you have three options depending on how serious the issue is you're encountering. First and Cost-free options is contacting Verizon Care as previously stated by *611, and requesting to have a number blocked. This adds a feature called "Call & Message Blocking" to your account, and does not cost anything for you directly. You can block up to 5 different numbers. The blocks are only good for 90 days, in which they shall automatically be removed and you would have to call back to add the block once again if the issue pursues. When blocking the number, it stops all Call and text messaging all together. That's the quick and easy way to block numbers.
...Option two, Contact Verizon again, and request to have a feature called "Usage Controls" added to your account, and this feature will give you way more features than you need if blocking numbers is your only issue. With Usage Controls, you may block up to 10 numbers at a time, and there is no time restriction, (is not auto removed after 90 days) The blocks shall be applied for as long as you have Usage Controls enabled. Bare in mind, Usage Controls cost's $4.99 a month and can only be managed online via your MyVerizon account. Customer Care cannot add/edit your blocked numbers. The consumer is liable for any applicable blocks to be applied accordingly, Usage controls is also used for limiting call/texts time restrictions (stop calls after 9pm) etc...for parents to make sure their kids arn't up till 1am talking about power rangers.
**Add Usage Controls via MyVerizon*
...Option three, you can download an application called "Do Not Disturb". This application is really aimed towards prevent "Unknown / Restricted / Private or 800" numbers from reaching customers, However you can also request to block numbers as well with this feature, but specifically it's application is aimed towards preventing unwanted calls from being received by the consumer. It's an application created by a 3rd party developer, so there's a subscription purchase of about $3 a month or a one time fee of $16.?? for unlimited use on that phone line directly. Keep in mind, when the private, restricted calls are blocked, unfortunately it doesn't mean that the call isn't going through, apparently the application simply routes the call to your "Voicemail".....not sure of the logic behind this, but apparently people buy into it..? but it certinaly helps against unknown callers at any rate.
**Add "Do Not Disturb" application via MyVerizon or OTA (over the air) on mobile phone**
Bottom Line: Yes , No and Yes
